Troon Modern Residence
Scottsdale / Arizona / USA

In the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Modern stands as a striking minimalist statement against the desert landscape and the rising Pinnacle Peak Heights. The residence features a bold mix of textured masonry, metal, and glass, deliberately contrasting with the soft, organic qualities of its surroundings. Its geometric layout, with planters and sharp-edged block walls, is accentuated by dark metal slots and apertures, creating a dynamic visual interplay with the mountain and desert brush.

Upon entry, the home reveals a dramatic connection with the desert vista through a two-story, light-filled stairwell. Floating walnut stair treads are highlighted by bands of light, adding an artistic dimension to the spatial experience.

The layout is carefully designed to preserve views while incorporating retracting glass walls that blend the indoor spaces with the natural environment. Outdoor living areas, sheltered by cantilevered roofs and framed by low masonry walls, offer uninterrupted views of the desert. The terrace provides a serene vantage point for sunset contemplation, with twilight skies and distant city lights in view.

Their drawings are among the best I have seen. As for their architecture – look around on Houzz or Google them. Original, timeless, and 100% custom. What more could a builder wish for? I highly recommend Kendle Design Collaborative.

Descending the stairs, visitors encounter artistically arranged window fenestration that frames the desert scenes, creating a visual journey through the home. Deep slot windows in the primary bathroom offer both privacy and expansive horizon views, while the primary bedroom features tranquil vistas.
