Originally, this design was inspired by a vastly different context: the sand dunes of Abu Dhabi. The design has been reconsidered with alternative materials and a modified orientation for a lush tropical location with ocean and mountain views. Earth, wind, water, and gardens inform the design. A roof form evoking a rolling wave of the ocean creates a sheltering pavilion for the public spaces of this ten suite vacation villa, while rammed earth walls protect the outdoor activity and contemplative spaces from the sun and wind.
